Eileen, thanks - I love old barns... they stir such a deep sense of nostalgia. As for the strings, I haven't touched them yet - we're sort of eying each other warily at this point. ;-)

Mary-Kay - I usually *try* to have a project in mind, but sometimes, there's something Just Too Perfect, and I make up a project on the spot to rationalize. Sadly, I can rationalize just about anything... thanks for the advice!

Howdy - I'm really glad you're enjoying the ramblings. I just can't help myself at this point - I like Sharing. :D I just found your site a short while ago and haven't had time to sit down and go through it yet. Soon!

Be careful buying stash stuff or it will start to overtake you and your space. Try to buy stuff with a project in mind not just to add to your stash. When I first started out quilting, everyone said this and that about their stash and now mine is probably bigger than all their's put together.Even the shop owners know that I used to buy yards of fabric just for the stash. I haven't done much of that this year. Thank God for this stash busting group and weekly report or I might be in the poor/dog house.

what a beautiful scenery shot, gorgeous fall colors. I am a country girl so I enjoyed the barns picture too, they are neat to me. I have one of those Sunbeam Mixers. Carefull with those strings. Working with them becomes addictive and you start to save every little piece to make more and more projects.
